La Soledad Farm is located in the heart of the Acatenango region. Its unique microclimate and volcanic soil are a perfect combination for growing high quality coffee with very distinct profiles. The farm covers 90 hectares, of which 45 hectares are used for coffee production and the rest is preserved as natural forest. Henio and his two sons Raul and Jose, work together focusing on the constant development and improvement of their processes in order to achieve the best quality potential of their coffees. La Soledad has been awarded several times at the Guatemala Cup of Excellence and has gained great respect and recognition throughout the industry over time.

Acatenango is characterized by a climate favorable to coffee growing. The high altitude, typically ranging from 1,600 to 2,000 meters above sea level, plays a crucial role. At this altitude, the cooler temperatures slow the ripening of coffee cherries, allowing the beans to develop more complex and nuanced flavors. In addition, the region is located near the active Acatenango volcano, and the volcanic soils are extremely fertile. This richness in minerals contributes to the quality of the coffee by promoting optimal plant growth and enriching the aromatic profile of the beans.

Geisha is a variety of coffee tree native to the Gori Gesha forest in Ethiopia, but is now grown in several other countries in Africa, Asia and America. It is widely known for its unique aromatic profile with floral and sweet notes, its high selling price and its exclusivity, as its demand has increased over the years.

The washed process involves fermentation and washing steps that allow for greater control over the quality and consistency of the coffee. This method reduces the variability in flavors due to uneven fermentation that can occur in other processes like natural drying. Washing coffee removes mucilage and other residues that can affect the taste. As a result, washed coffee often has a cleaner flavor and fewer earthy or fermented notes than coffees processed through other methods like natural drying.
